FluConsortium 2003 - Solvay & Wyeth to Supply in 2003

17 January 2003 Solvay and Wyeth 2003 Suppliers

Following a very competitive tender process Stockport LMC is pleased to confirm that Solvay Healthcare is the Greater Manchester LMCs preferred supplier for 2003. Wyeth, preferred suppliers in 2002 are this year's secondary supplier.

This year's tender has produced a 32.5% profit per dose increase on last year.

All practices will be sent a schedule showing the details of the two successful bidders by their LMC during week commencing 20th January 2003.  It is clear that this year the tender from Solvay is the best offer, significantly better on profit per dose extended credit up to 31st March 2004, 10% sale or return and a 10% reserve facility.

Once again both the potential profit to practice and the terms achieved by the consortium are significantly more competitive than a single practice buying alone.

As last year it has been decided to accept both the best and second best tenders to give practices the option of splitting their order. This year we will offer practices the option of either tender, a 50/50 or 75/25 split between the respective suppliers.

Should you wish to participate in this years Consortium, practices should complete the form distributed by their LMC indicating both the quantity of vaccines required and supplier preference and return it to Paul Stevens at Stockport LMC by March 15th 2003.

30 November 2002 Tender Papers for 2003 Issued

Stockport LMC is pleased to advise that invitation to tender papers for the 2003 flu consortium were sent to suppliers of flu vaccine at the end of November.

Cut off date for receipt of tenders is noon on Wednesday 15th January.

Practices have no need to place orders during the tender period as the deals currently on offer from the reps will be improved upon by the consortium
